We would like to thank everyone who attended the 2009 Texas Challenge Dancesport!!  We were so happy to see such an increase in our professional divisions, as well as a huge day on Sunday, with many collegiate and amateur participants.  The room was packed with family and friends who came to watch all the juvenile, junior, pre-teen and youth competitors.   Our Friday night was a bigger evening than usual, and Saturday evening was a sold out event.  The energy was high all weekend!   Visit the results page to see our winners and view the photo gallery, which is always being updated.

Please check back with us throughout the year for updates about our 2010 event.  We hope to keep our momentum going and will continue to offer new and exciting things, including new dance categories and prizes, for students and pros alike!

Please note: We are sad to say that there will be no Texas Challenge in 2010, but we back in full force in 2011.

We had a lot of new changes for 2009.  The top overall student won a free package to the 2010 Texas Challenge.  Competing Professionals who also danced Pro/Am entries qualified for a $200 bonus in prize money.   This year we also offered a new Professional Masters division in American Rhythm (CC-R-SW) and American Smooth (W-T-FT).  This division is for professionals who have not competed in at least 10 years.  We had no takers this year, but you guys have a year to practice, so dust off your dancing shoes!

With all levels and styles available to pro/am, professional, amateur and collegiate dancers, there is something for everyone.  We are conveniently located at Intercontinental Airport, with free shuttles to and from airport, as well as to nearby shopping malls.  The weather is great in Houston this time of year, so when you're not dancing, enjoy the outdoor or indoor pool or visit one of the nearby golf courses.  But whatever you do , don't miss the Texas Challenge Dancesport!
